As Women’s History Month closes, we’re honoring them with our list of 12 Successful Latinas in the United States. At Estafeta USA we respect and admire Latina women for their magical blend of strength, perseverance, love, and creativity. And we’re showcasing all of that here. In our previous post we presented the first part of the list, and now here’s part II.
12 Amazing Latinas in the United States
Patricia Janiot. “On the road, don’t forget the people who matter in your life: your family, your friends, all your loved ones. Don’t forget yourself and your duty to become a better human being.”
Eva Longoria. “As a Latina, I want to see more actors who look like me on screen and behind the camera. I opened my own production company to create content from our community. And became a director and producer to have a platform from which to hire people who look like me.”
Ellen Ochoa. “I tell students that the opportunities I had were the result of having a good academic background. Education is what allows you to stand out.”
Sofia Vergara. “I’m not afraid of anything, I’m not complaining. Even when horrible things happen to me, I keep going.”
Dolores Huerta. “My mother was a dominant force in our family. And I always saw her as the leader. That was great for me as a young woman, because I never saw women having to be dominated by men.”
Celia Cruz. “Azúcar!” The queen of Salsa immortalized this word as her signature cry of joy.
With Celia Cruz, Queen of Salsa and many Latin rhythms, we close this tribute from Estafeta USA to Latin women. We hope you have enjoyed the list of 12 Amazing Latinas in the United States, pride for the Hispanic community. They represent our culture and people, and are an example to be followed by Latin Americans in the USA and the world. There are more than 12 Amazing Latinas in the US, many more, just look around and you’ll find them!
